There are so many different tools to use when it comes to surviving Disney World! We pack the best sunscreens, the most comfortable shoes, and so many portable chargers.

One tool in our survival kit is free to you and us! It’s called the My Disney Experience App, and it is quite literally your key to the kingdom. Now, the key to maximizing your Disney World trip has changed again, and we think you’re going to love it.
The My Disney Experience App is about to make shopping easier…we hope! Currently, Disney World is testing a new “Find Merchandise” feature in the app. This feature will let you search for souvenirs and see if the merchandise is currently in stock.

At the time of writing, the test is only live for World of Disney over in Disney Springs. It gives you access to see where specific merchandise is, what store it’s in, and what the hours of the store are.

As you can see, you can search based on what you’re looking for. It can be super specific or more general!

We love that the app also shows the prices, as well as available sizing. You can also find the product number of each item if you need more detailed searching. The app is currently being rolled out, so you might not see the update just yet. Only time will tell if Disney will expand this offering.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen something like this in Disney World. At one point, there was a similar app called the Shop Disney Parks App. They also updated My Disney Experience to let you shop via the app in 2019.

Shop the Parks via My Disney Experience
In past attempts, the app wasn’t the most reliable. Members of our team were Cast Members during the other attempts, and the app struggled to stay up-to-date. This means guests would go out of their way for merchandise only for it to be sold out, despite what the app said.

World of Disney!
In addition to this feature, the My Disney Experience App can let you see wait times, purchase Lightning Lanes, and keep all of your important information in one place. Your tickets and hotel information can even be accessed from the app! What’s even crazier is that we are only talking about a fraction of what the app offers.

We’re eager to see how this will impact guests’ shopping experience. If this app is able to report the current availability, this is the update we’ve been dreaming of! As always, be sure to keep following DisneyFoodBlog for more Disney news and updates.
