Disney World has just announced another refurbishment — though this one isn’t happening until 2027!
Skyliner
The Disney Skyliner undergoes a routine closure each year to make sure things are running smoothly. Disney previously announced the dates for the 2026 closure, but now we officially have the dates for the 2027 closure as well!
Disney has updated the Skyliner page on the My Disney Experience app with dates for the 2027 closure. If you’ve got a 2027 trip planned, keep in mind that the Skyliner will be closed from January 24th to January 30th. This means you’ll have to find an alternate mode of transportation.

It’s worth noting that Disney skipped this refurbishment in 2025 for the first time since the Skyliner opened.

All of the stops and connections between EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and the parks will not be available during this time, but complimentary buses will be offered. We recommend adding some additional travel time since other forms of transportation will be busier due to higher crowd levels without the Skyliner.

If you were considering staying at the Art of Animation Resort, Caribbean Beach Resort, Pop Century Resort, or the Riviera Resort during these dates and were staying there for the Skyliner, you might want to consider booking somewhere else.

While buses will be available, there are also options like boat transportation between Hollywood Studios and EPCOT and some surrounding resorts. All Disney Resorts have bus transportation, but there are a few more options, like the Monorail or boats.
