It is a good time to be a Swiftie. Not only are we able to stream The Eras Tour on Disney+ over and over (guilty), but we also have a brand new album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” dropping on October 4th.
Of course, Taylor Swift, being the “Mastermind” that she is, also dropped some big news after releasing all those special edition pre-orders for the new album. The singer and songwriter announced that she and her Kansas City Chiefs football-playing fiancé, Travis Kelce, were engaged! Now, there is a lot of speculation about whether she will perform at the 2026 Super Bowl halftime show, and it’s starting to look like it’s possible!
So the speculation started when Taylor appeared on the New Heights podcast, which is hosted by her boyfriend, Travis, and his brother Jason Kelce (who is also a football player). She talked a little bit about the Super Bowl in general, as well as the halftime Show, during the podcast. Now, Swifties know that Tay Tay is playing chess while the rest of us are playing checkers, and she’s been known to drop clues to her future plans in little ways that fans pick up on.
However, she also spoke about her hobby of making sourdough. How is that relevant? Well, Sourdough Sam is the name of the mascot for the San Francisco 49ers, aka the team whose home stadium will be where the Super Bowl is played in 2026. But here’s the exact quote that followed her mention of sourdough: “I’m really talking about bread 60% of the time now.” Guess what number next year’s Super Bowl will be? It will be the 60th. Like I said, MASTERMIND.
So maybe for the uninitiated, that still seems a bit of a stretch. However, NFL Roger Goodell recently said that Swift is “welcome” to perform for the Super Bowl halftime show and then even teased that it “may be” in the works for 2026. “We would always love to have Taylor play,” Goodell said. “She is a special, special talent, and obviously she would be welcome at any time.”
MIC DROP.
So is Taylor Swift performing at the Super Bowl halftime show in 2026? Well, it’s a “maybe,” but it’s also an “all signs point to yes,” too. We’ll just have to see…
