REVIEW: Color? Questionable. Flavor? Delightful. Disney's New Treat Did NOT Disappoint

Boo…to YOU! Boo to you, and you, and you, and you…Happy Halloween! We are back at Magic Kingdom for even more Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party fun. Of course, that also means we are trying out even more food, so you know what items are a must-get and what items you might want to skip.

Not a Poisoned Apple Slushy

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a separately ticketed event that happens on select evenings through October 31st. This family-friendly Halloween event features trick-or-treating, rare character meet and greets, exclusive entertainment, and over 45 themed treats you can grab. Let’s head over to Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe for a party-exclusive item!

We are trying out a NEW item over at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe. May we introduce the Not a Poisoned Apple Slushy, which you can grab for $6.49. This drink is non-alcoholic and ONLY available during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. It is frozen apple cider topped with cinnamon whipped cream and sour gummy candy.

Not a Poisoned Apple Slushy

We’re not gonna lie, we were a bit surprised by the color, but let’s dig in! The slushy had lots of green apple flavor. It reminded us of the Jolly Rancher green apple flavor, without being quite as sweet. It was a bit more on the sour side. Essentially, it tastes like a frozen apple juice, which we are here for! The cinnamon whipped cream had lots of cinnamon flavor and it kind of tasted like the frosting they put on top of the brown sugar cinnamon pop tart.

The sour gummies didn’t end up adding a whole lot for us beyond looking pretty cute on top. They were sitting in the cinnamon whipped cream, and we aren’t sure the flavors of sour gummy worms and cinnamon whipped cream work very well together. But it’s cute with the whole apple theme.

Not a Poisoned Apple Slushy

We definitely recommend mixing this slushy together with the whipped cream as it gives it a more apple cider flavor. Also, if you are really excited about this drink, we also recommend bringing your own straw as it is a bit hard to mix with the paper straw! Overall, we enjoyed this slushy, and it definitely tasted like we were drinking a frozen apple cider once we got it mixed together. Stay tuned to DFB for all your Disney World news!
