Well, pirates, grabbing your seat in the tavern is delayed.

Yesterday, August 14th, Magic Kingdom‘s newest lounge was supposed to open up reservations. The new lounge, inspired by Pirates of the Caribbean, will be called the Beak and Barrel, and it officially opens on August 29th! After yesterday’s rough day, reservations for the new lounge have officially been delayed.
Hey, even pirates have tough days, too! The Beak and Barrel has been highly anticipated since Disney announced it in 2023 at D23. We have followed every bit of news since it was announced, and yesterday, our team was up at the crack of dawn to grab the brand-new Advanced Dining Reservations. (No joke, Disney reservations open at 6 AM EST.)

Well, despite having our lucky treasure chest, Disney’s website struggled to open the reservations for the new lounge. After waiting most of the day, Disney finally updated the website, confirming that reservations wouldn’t launch on August 14th like we had anticipated.

Our team spent the day collecting “broken” pages like infinity stones, waiting patiently to get our spot in the pirates’ tavern.

Disney then announced that reservations will open the week of August 18th, 2025.

And now, we officially know when reservations will be opening. You will be able to grab reservations beginning at 7 PM ET on August 20th. Yes, that is a PM NOT an AM based on Disney World’s website. Usually reservations open at 7 AM, so we are thinking they are trying to pick a less busy time this go around, but let’s just say we will probably be checking at 7 AM too, just to be on the safe side.
This new lounge will continue the story of Pirates of the Caribbean, and it follows Captain Meridian “Merry” Goldwyn, who established this “lively pirate pub.” Her first mate, Rummy, will be the tavern’s quartermaster and will keep an eye on the lounge from a roost at the top of the pub.

We’ve also gotten to check out the menu already ahead of the opening! You can expect to find grub from the galley (including tentacles), non-alcoholic beverages, and specialty cocktails, as well as wine and beer.
