World Princess Week is coming up soon, from August 23rd to August 31st. To celebrate, Disney World is releasing a series of princess-themed food and drinks.
Now, we’ve already been impressed with some pretty gorgeous treats, like the Rapunzel Berries and Cream Cake, Tiana’s Mint Chocolate Chip Bar, the Moana Mini Cake, and the Colors of the Wind Petit Cake, but the latest princess-themed treat we tried doesn’t quite live up to the high bar we’ve set for the Princesses. Let’s talk about Bubbles of the Sea at The Market in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
First, this drink has some history because it’s not new, although it’s new to this location. In 2023, it was at Fairfax Fare in Hollywood Studios. However, it’s also on the menu at Centertown Market at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. So poor Ariel didn’t even get a new drink or snack…this has been recycled from a drink that’s already been available. It’s made with Gold Peak Sweet Green Tea, Lemon Juice, Pineapple, and Guava, topped with Boba Pearls and a splash of Shimmer for $7.29.
Another problem we have with this drink is that all the other Princess-themed treats have been SO PRETTY, and this is just so…plain compared to them. Ariel deserves so much better. And even worse is that when you drink it, all the colors combine and you end up with a muddy brownish muck. We also didn’t see any of the shimmer we were promised.
As far as flavors go, we taste mostly the green tea and guava, but barely any lemon or pineapple. However, it’s a sweet drink, and even if you don’t particularly care for green tea, you might be okay with it here. But again, we’re disappointed that Ariel didn’t even get a new or pretty drink or snack this year for World Princess Week. Sorry, Ariel, the human world is a mess, and you deserve better.
