We’ve eaten EVERYWHERE in Disney World, and we’ve tried it all. Still, some snacks, entrees, and desserts continue to surprise us!
We recently stopped by Disney’s Yacht Club Resort for a meal at Ale & Compass — a consistently delicious Disney World hotel restaurant option. During our visit, we wanted to try as much as possible, including the restaurant’s Seasonal Flatbread — which admittedly had us scratching our heads at first…
Ale & Compass Restaurant (a notable difference from the Ale & Compass Lounge) serves up breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and you’ll find a Seasonal Market Vegetable Flatbread for $17 on the lunch and dinner menus when you visit.
During our meal, our seasonal option was the French Onion Soup Flatbread, and we were taken aback, to say the least. This flatbread WASN’T veggie-only, as it featured some shreds of beef. As for the rest of the flatbread, it was literally a French onion soup in pizza form.
The beef was perfectly salty, yet thin, making it easy to bite through. The cheese was melted on top (just like the soup) and — surprisingly — didn’t slide off each bite. The actual flatbread was chewy with a few crispy bubbles on the side, while not being overly crispy.
Overall, this really was French onion soup in pizza form, which is PERFECT if you’re looking for those flavors without having to deal with soup in the Florida heat. In fact, our reporters would prefer this form of French onion to the soup any day! Salty, savory, and offering great textures — this flatbread gets two thumbs up from us.
It’s important to note that the seasonal flatbread changes every few months according to our server, so you’ll want to head over to Ale and Compass ASAP for a chance to try this seasonal offering!
