Why Every Disney Fan Will Be GLUED to Their Screen in August

Disney Adult. Disney fan. Disney-obsessed. Whatever you call yourself, you’re going to want to mark August 29th to 31st in your calendar and keep your phone notifications on.

We love Disney announcements

We know it feels like Disney drops news about parks and movies randomly throughout the year (and they sometimes do!), but a lot of the announcements come at one specific point of the year, and that time is almost upon us.

The Destination D23: A Journey Around the World of Disney is right around the corner, and this is the event where Disney spills the tea on all the projects they’ve been working on. My favorite part is the Disney Parks announcement, but they also give news about movies, Disney Cruise Line, and other Disney-related news.

Destination D23 will be at Disney World this year in Coronado Springs Resort. Destination D23 is typically a bit smaller than the traditional D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in California.

What kind of information are we expecting? As someone who has watched D23 conferences for years and likes to keep track of all the new information, I have an idea of what to expect to hear.

Because it’s the smaller of the expos, I would be surprised if Disney announced huge things like new parks, new lands, and possibly even new rides. I think Disney will focus on updates on current projects since they released so many projects for D23 in 2024.

The Monsters, Inc. themed land in Hollywood Studios

The retheme of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster to include the Muppets

Puebla Esperanza, the Tropical Americas-themed land in Animal Kingdom

A new attraction themed after the Walt Disney Animation Studios film “Encanto” follows Antonio the day after he received his magical gift – the ability to communicate with animals and is situated in the new Tropical Americas land coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Villains land behind Big Thunder Mountain

These ideas are only for Disney World, too! Projects are happening at Disneyland, international parks, the cruise lines, movies, and shows…

Of course, we could be wrong on all of this! Disney might announce all new projects, not update others, or cancel other things. Who knows? Only Disney knows what Disney will do, and we’re just here for the ride.
