When Disney World gets rid of one of our favorite snacks, you KNOW we take notice — and we know we’re not the only ones.

Sleepy Hollow

For example, we recently lost that lovely Toffee and Coconut Brownie in Disney’s Hollywood Studios that we’ve loved since the 50th Anniversary Celebration. Last year, we briefly lost the Hush Puppies at Columbia Harbour House in Magic Kingdom, and we griped about it…a lot. Then the Hush Puppies came back! We also lost the waffles at Sleepy Hollow when the round waffles were replaced with Mickey waffles…that just didn’t hold up. Well, y’all, another snack miracle has happened, because the Mickey waffles are gone and the old waffles are back!!!

We noticed a menu change at Sleepy Hollow where we saw the Mickey waffles removed and regular waffles added. So we went to Sleepy Hollow to check them out. Now, we usually love Mickey-shaped food, but the Mickey waffles were spongey and just get slippery with lots of toppings, making them harder to eat than the previous round-shaped waffles.

So how do the new round-shaped waffles stack up? We dropped by Sleepy Hollow to find out. We grabbed with the Waffle with Sweet-and-Spicy Maple Chicken for $12.29. This waffle is served with Maple-Sriracha Glaze and Parsley Flakes. This one is a must for chicken and waffle fans. The good waffles are BACK — they’re nice and crispy (save for where there’s a lot of sauce on them) and fluffy on the inside. The sauce is mostly sweet, but there’s a kick of spicy, but not TOO much. The chicken tenders are nice and juicy. We’re BACK, baby!

We also grabbed the Waffle with Chocolate-Hazelnut Spread, Bananas, Berries, and Whipped Cream for $9.49 served with Chocolate-Hazelnut Spread, Bananas, Berries, and Whipped Cream. So this waffle did get a little soggy because of all the sauce, so eat it fast (that’s probably not a problem for most). The combo of the berries and chocolate-hazelnut are so good and the whipped cream is a nice creamy addition. Also, again, the good waffles are back.
