If you were hoping to cruise through Ornament Valley this summer, you might need to hit the brakes.

Disney California Adventure
One of Disney California Adventure’s most beloved attractions is pulling into the garage for a little tune-up, and we’re talking more than just a tire rotation. Here’s all you need to know!
Radiator Springs Racers at Cars Land will be temporarily closed starting August 18th, 2025, for a scheduled refurbishment that will last approximately one month.

Let’s roll!
Just like any high-performance racer, this attraction needs regular care to keep it running smoothly. During the closure, crews will be resurfacing sections of the track to make the ride smoother than a fresh coat of paint. And it’s not just the pavement getting some polish. Guests might also experience improvements to audio, lighting, and behind-the-scenes tech that’ll help everything run more reliably when it reopens, according to Scott Gustin.

In other words, the folks in the pit crew are working to make sure this Cars Land staple keeps delivering those high-speed thrills and jaw-dropping scenic views for years to come. No official reopening date has been announced just yet, but the closure is expected to last a little over a month.

Radiator Springs
Even while Radiator Springs Racers is parked for maintenance, the rest of Cars Land will still be open and ready to roll. You can spin around with Mater at his Junkyard Jamboree or take a twirl with Luigi’s dancing roadsters. And of course, Flo’s V8 Café will still be serving up that sweet nostalgia (and those even sweeter shakes).

Flo’s V-8 Cafe
Just keep in mind that the shortcut between Cars Land and Avengers Campus is still blocked off due to construction on the upcoming Avengers attraction. That detour will remain in place through summer 2026, so plan your route accordingly.

Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters
So while it may be tough to see Radiator Springs Racers temporarily closed, this refurbishment is the kind of maintenance that keeps a fan-favorite attraction feeling fresh and firing on all cylinders.
