Grab your wand and your favorite Parisian snack and run to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Ministry of Magic to — wait, it’s CLOSED?
If you’re heading to a preview of Universal’s Epic Universe, heads up that the attraction you’ve been dying to ride might not be open.
One of Epic Universe’s most anticipated attractions, Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry, will be closed from May 10th to 16th.
Epic Universe is currently in technical rehearsal, and anyone can purchase preview tickets (even those who aren’t Annual Passholders) to check out the park before its grand opening. During the technical rehearsal, Universal is still working on the park and finishing it while allowing Team Members more training at their locations.
While it’s disappointing that the attraction will be closed for a bit, we’re glad we got a heads-up, and you can still walk through the beginning of the incredible queue! You can enter the Ministry via floo powder and feel like you’re walking into a Harry Potter movie.
Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry is currently operating with a virtual queue system to help manage guest flow. Right now, guests inside the parks can try to secure a chance to ride by going into the Universal app for the drops at 11 PM, 3 PM, and 6 PM.
This started during Team Member Previews but has continued onto Annual Passholder Previews and the previews available to all guests. Universal hasn’t said whether the virtual queue will stay when the park opens May 22nd, but if this ride is at the top of your list, make sure you’re checking the app for current information.
Over at How to Train Your Dragon — Isle of Berk, the Viking Training Camp will also be closed from May 13th to May 16th. This is the massive playground themed to Berk’s vikings and dragons where little ones can play.
Remember: everything is subject to change! Although Battle at the Ministry is only supposed to be closed until May 16th, they might decide to keep it closed a little longer or even open it early. Other rides might be down for maintenance as well. Keep checking the app while you’re at the technical rehearsal to make sure you have up-to-date information.
We’ll monitor to see if any other changes are being made, but in the meantime, make sure you’re following Disney Food Blog for more Epic Universe news.

Epic Universe preview was a joke. Over half the attractions were down all most or all of the day, The Ministry of Magic didn’t open until 3 pm so naturally the virtual queue was so limited that four of us on our phones were unable to score even one spot in two days of trying. A total waste of time and the full entry price.
