Disneyland, the original Disney park, is turning 70 this year!

To honor this milestone anniversary, Disneyland will celebrate from May 16th, 2025, until the Summer of 2026. The celebration will include the return of fan-favorite parades, new character costumes, a new attraction, and so much more! As part of the anniversary, attractions in both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure are changing!

Disney just announced that “it’s a small world” and Toy Story Mania will be receiving an update for the 70th anniversary!

A new character will soon be part of Disneyland’s “it’s a small world.” If you did not know, certain scenes in the ride feature Disney characters like Cinderella, Alice, Lilo, Stitch, and more! Now, Miguel and Dante from the Pixar film Coco will join the ride line-up! “Silhouetted by a stunning marigold bridge, you’ll be able to spot this new addition when the attraction reopens on April 25, 2025.”

It was already revealed that the attraction’s iconic theme song would be getting another verse added. The new verse was written by Richard M. Sherman “in his final Disney contribution.” The new verse is below:

“Mother Earth unites us in heart and mind

And the love we give makes us humankind

Through our vast wondrous land

When we stand hand in hand

It’s a small world after all.”

Toy Story Mania

Toy Story Mania in Pixar Pier will also get an update! Disney says, “Even the toys are celebrating! On Toy Story Midway Mania!” You can “look for nods to the 70th anniversary as you compete for the highest score on carnival-inspired games.”
