Do you use Lightning Lanes when you go to Disney World?
Recently, Disney World updated its skip-the-line system from Genie+ to Lightning Lane Multi Pass, and we’ve been learning all its ins and outs since it premiered in July. On top of learning the intricacies and rules, we’ve been monitoring the price of Lightning Lane Multi Pass for each park, each day. And there’s something interesting you should know about prices this week.
Since Lightning Lane Multi Pass premiered in late July, the price per person, per day for Magic Kingdom hasn’t dropped below $25. It has stayed consistently between $25 and $27 since then. Even during the old Genie+ system, Magic Kingdom’s price has been above $25 since May 1st, 2024.
On September 2nd, Magic Kingdom’s price dropped to $23 per person, but on September 4th, it will dip down to $20! That’s the lowest price we’ve seen in months. September is often one of the cheaper months to visit Disney World, so this makes sense historically.
So how does Lightning Lane Multi Pass work? Well, you can purchase 7 days in advance of your visit if you’re staying on-site and 3 days in advance of your visit if you’re staying off-site. You can make 3 Lightning Lane selections in a theme park in advance of your visit,
To book your Lightning Lanes, you’ll use the My Disney Experience app. Once you get to the parks and use a Lightning Lane, you can book another, repeating the process throughout the day and holding three in your account at all times.
Keep in mind that this updated price does not apply to Lightning Lane Single Pass rides, which are paid individually and have pricing that varies by day and by ride. The most popular rides from each park fit in this category, including TRON Lightcycle / Run, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, Rise of the Resistance, and Avatar Flight of Passage.
