Goodness! We’ve gotten SO much exciting news from D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event this weekend, it’s almost a little overwhelming!
That’s why we’re making sure we’re bringing all the news to you in ways you can easily understand and break down because there are truly SO many exciting things happening for the Disney company that were just announced. Some of the most exciting announcements though were about Disney Cruise Line‘s newest cruise ship, the Disney Destiny. Let’s recap everything we’ve learned about this ship (hint: it’s a LOT)!
Ahead of the event, we knew the Disney Destiny is set to sail in 2025 and is the sister ship to the Disney Treasure and Disney Wish. The theme of the ship is all themed around Heroes and Villains, and you even choose a side when you board! We knew we’d see characters from The Lion King, One Hundred and One Dalmatians, and Hercules, just to name a few, and that there would be experiences on board themed after these stories.
We also knew the ship will hold up to 4,000 passengers in about 1,200 staterooms, and that the important Keel Laying ceremony had already taken place with Minnie Mouse on the coin!
However, Disney also just announced that a brand new Hercules show is coming to the Disney Destiny ship! These Broadway-style shows are seriously impressive, and we can’t WAIT to learn more. Disney teased the show will have “A modern twist,” so we’re expecting some fun new additions to the classic story we know.

Although the announcement simply confirmed the news, the new stage show will debut with the Disney Destiny ship when it sets sail in 2025!
We can’t wait to hear more about this ship as it gets closer to completion!
