NEWS: A Walt Disney Animatronic (!!!) Is Coming SOON!

It’s a big weekend for The Walt Disney Company.

D23: The Ultimate Fan Event is happening RIGHT NOW, and we are getting all kinds of announcements about Disney attractions, experiences, and the parks. Now, we’ve got some HUGE news to share coming out of Disneyland: a classic attraction there will soon be replaced (kind of).

Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln has been a staple on Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland since 1965. The attraction originally debuted when Walt Disney took it to the 1964 New York World’s Fair. It uses what was at the time state-of-the-art audio-animatronic technology to represent President Abraham Lincoln who makes a patriotic speech about inspiration, justice, and the meaning of the United States Constitution.

While Disney didn’t say that this historical attraction is going away forever, it will be getting a change. President Lincoln was the first ever audio-animatronic made by Walt, and now Disney has now announced that the first-ever audio-animatronic of Walt Disney himself will be coming to Disneyland in a brand-new show. The new show, “Walt Disney — A Magical Life” will share a space inside the Main Street Opera House with “Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln.”

After the initial run of the new show, “Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln” and “Walt Disney — A Magical Life” will alternate screenings at the Main Street Opera House. Josh D’Aamaro, Disney Experiences Chairman, shared, “Creating our first Walt figure is a huge responsibility, and we’ve brought members of the Disney family along with us for every step of the journey.”

For the first time ever, guests will be able to see the first-ever Audio-Animatronics figure of Walt Disney in the new show “Walt Disney – A Magical Life,” which will eventually play in rotation with “Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln” after its initial debut at Disneyland park in 2025. (Disney)

This is a very special experience as it will be the first time everyone can see Walt. We can’t wait to see this amazing tribute to his first ever animatronic and the first ever animatronic of Walt come to life.
