In January 2024, Universal Orlando revealed details about the five themed lands that will make up Epic Universe: Celestial Park, SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, Dark Universe, and one we think most people are pretty excited about: The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic.
Universal has shared details about each of these lands — except for the Harry Potter one. Well, that’s all changed now and we’re sharing a look at ALL the attractions coming to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, at Epic Universe!
The NEW Ministry of Magic will be the third Harry Potter-themed land at Universal Orlando! It will join Hogsmeade (located in Universal’s Islands of Adventure) and Diagon Alley (located in Universal Studios) as a unique land adding another chapter to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter — and Universal just shared all the attractions we can expect in this new land!
Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry
Before you jump on the ride, you’ll travel by the Floo Network from wizarding Paris in the 1920s to the British Ministry of Magic set in the 1990s for the trial of Dolores Umbridge. You’ll visit a full-sized grand atrium of the Ministry and venture through the departments before “boarding magical, omnidirectional lifts” to watch the trial. But Umbridge attempts to escape!
You’ll join Harry, Ron, Hermione, and a house-elf named Higgledy to chase down Umbridge. You’ll be propelled up, down, forward, backward, sideways, and more through the Ministry to race to capture Umbridge. But you’ll also need to dodge Death Eaters, monstrous creatures, and more!
In this land, “guests will discover a different era of the wizarding world in an all-new land that blends 1920s wizarding Paris from Warner Bros. Pictures’ Fantastic Beasts films with the iconic British Ministry of Magic from the Harry Potter series.” If it’s anything like the previous two Harry Potter lands at Universal Orlando, we know we’re in for some incredible theming, rides, food, and more.
That’s all we know for now, but with these latest Harry Potter land announcements, we officially know more about all the exciting lands coming to Epic Universe at Universal Orlando Resort! In the meantime, we’ll be on the hunt for the latest theme park news you need to know, so stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for more.
