Universal’s Epic Universe is opening in 2025 and the countdown is officially ON!

The new theme park will include lands including Celestial Park, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, and Dark Universe. Universal recently just shared a ton of news about what we can expect from Dark Universe, but we just learned a seriously exciting new detail!
Dark Universe will be based around Universal Monsters like Dracula, Frankenstein, the Wolf Man, and more. This land marks the first time those iconic horror characters will have a fully dedicated land and series of rides in a Universal theme park — and just when we thought it couldn’t get any more exciting, we learn just who will be doing the music for this park of the park!

Danny Elfman, film composer and singer-songwriter, has confirmed that he will be doing the music for Dark Universe! The artist shared the news in an Instagram Story, which you can see below. Elfman said, “The Universal Monsters have always been such a big part of my life. I’m grateful and honored to have been chosen to compose the music for the new Dark Universe in @universalorlando. I can’t wait to go!!!”

And we can’t wait either! Elfman is best known for his frequent collaborations with Tim Burton and for being the frontman and songwriter for the iconic 1980s new wave band, Oingo-Boingo. With his emphasis on all things eerie and macabre in the Burton films he’s worked on, we’re expecting some seriously creepy and epic music at Dark Universe!
At Dark Universe, once visitors walk through the Dark Universe portal, they’re whisked off to a place full of dark energy where they step into the village of Darkmoor and stare up at the focal point of the land, Frankenstein Manor. The theme here is all about monsters, of course.
