Is it too early to get hyped for the holidays in the Disney parks?
I mean, we know it’s June, but we’re already starting to think about our winter vacations and what could be better than ringing in the season in Disney World or Disneyland Resort? We’ve recently seen some hints about holiday celebrations coming to Disney World, but now we’ve got a tip about what could be returning to the West Coast!
The Disney Auditions website recently posted a casting call for a “Holiday Festival” at Disneyland Resort. The posting says they’re seeking the following: “A variety of pre-established, self-contained acts who can celebrate the story of various cultural holidays (for example: Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Christmas, Diwali, etc.) through music, dance, storytelling, and more. All cultures from around the world are welcome.”
Now, it hasn’t been announced publicly yet, but this sounds a lot like the Festival of Holidays at Disney California Adventure! The annual festival typically runs around the holiday season and includes food booths and special entertainment.
Submissions for this audition must be made by the end of the day on June 18th, and you have to be 18 or older and eligible to work in the United States to qualify. If you pass the initial stage of the process, you’ll be contacted by Disneyland Resort for an in-person audition.
The 2023 Festival of Holidays lasted from early November through early January and featured 8 different “Festive Marketplace Booths” with holiday eats from around the world. Various shows throughout the day honored different cultural holidays like Christmas, Kwanzaa, Diwali, Hanukkah, and more.
We’re still waiting on information about the 2024 festival, so we’ll make sure to keep you in the loop as we learn more. We’re also waiting on Disney to release information about the 2024 holiday season at Disney World! We’ve seen auditions posted online for Jollywood Nights at Hollywood Studios, which was a brand-new holiday party last year. And hopefully, we’ll get to enjoy Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom once again.
We can’t wait to check out everything this holiday season! Stay tuned to DFB for all the announcements and updates, as well as the full coverage when the season kicks off.
