If you’ve been here a while, then you know that we’re absolutely OBSESSED with plastic cheese here at DFB.
If you don’t know about plastic cheese, allow me to enlighten you! It’s a cheese sauce you can find in many places around Disney World that Cast Members will serve you in a little open-top plastic cup, usually for a $1 upcharge. We especially love to dip our Casey’s Corner corn dog nuggets and french fries in it! And if you’re as hooked on plastic cheese as we are, then there’s another meal we HAVE to tell you about!
At The Friar’s Nook in Magic Kingdom, there’s one snack on the menu that’s MADE for the plastic cheese lovers out there. You can get Tots and Cheese Sauce as a snack for just $5.29!
However, if you’re feeling just a bit more peckish, you can UPGRADE that snack into a full meal! For $7.49, Friar’s Nook offers the Tots and Cheese Sauce Kids’ Meal. You still get the tater tots and plastic cheese, but the extra $2.20 also pays for a small beverage and two sides (a Cuties mandarin and apple slices).
It’s a fairly decent-sized cup of tots, and you get the same $1-sized cup of plastic cheese to go along with it. The whole setup is a bit more filling than most snacks, and yet it’s cheaper than some of the snack options in Magic Kingdom (we’re looking at you, cheeseburger spring rolls!).
And you know what else? It was absolutely delicious! The tots were crispy on the outside and soft in the middle, and the cheese was the perfect smooth, cheesy accompaniment. Add in the light, refreshing nature of the fruits on the side, and I was quite satisfied.
So the next time you’re on the hunt for a fun snack in Magic Kingdom, I recommend stopping by The Friar’s Nook! If you don’t want to eat everything at once, you can always throw the Cutie and the apple slices in your park bag for later.
