Sometimes the unexpected can happen in Disney World, but we do our best to prepare you if we can.
We always tell you about times when parks close early (which happens sometimes for special events). We also try to keep you updated on any weather that could impact your Disney World trip, especially when it might close rides. We also want you to know about both planned and unexpected ride closures. Tonight, one Magic Kingdom ride will be closing EARLY.
Tonight, Under the Sea — Journey of the Little Mermaid will close early at 7PM. Now, we initially thought this had something to do with the nighttime fireworks because there are parts of Fantasyland that close early for that. But we spoke with a Cast Member who told us this early closure was more about ride maintenance. There’s a sign in front of the ride notifying guests of this closure.
So if you’re headed to Magic Kingdom today and this is something you’ll want to ride, just make sure to get over to Fantasyland before 7PM to ride it. We haven’t noticed any other closures like this in Magic Kingdom, though, so even if you miss it, you’ll still be able to hop on other attractions. Under The Sea — Journey of the Little Mermaid is a dark ride that is basically a retelling of The Little Mermaid and is a must for Ariel fans.
If you’d rather just meet Ariel instead, you can find her in the nearby Ariel’s Grotto for her character meet and greet.
