40 Disney Celebrities Came Together for a NEW 100th Anniversary Short

Grab your popcorn! A new animated feature film is coming to theaters this fall.

Disney’s new film, Wish, hits theaters on November 22nd, 2023. That’s not the only thing audiences have to look forward to, however. There is a new animated short that will debut with the film–and it’s all about the company’s 100th anniversary. This weekend, a premiere of this new work took place during the Annecy International Animation Festival.

According to Deadline, this new short–Once Upon a Studio— celebrates Disney’s 100th anniversary in what the creators, Dan Abraham and Trent Correy, describe as “a love letter” to the studio.

The two told the audience how they worked nights and weekends to “figure out a way to pay tribute to the studio and its legacy.” In the short, Mickey Mouse gathers a group of Disney character legends for a group photo and features a cameo by 70-year animator Burny Mattinson. Forty voice actors also returned to take part in the short.

Josh Gad, who shared his excitement about the short on Twitter, said that he almost cried when he “was told Olaf would appear alongside the Genie.”
