TRON GOOFY Is Everything We Never Knew We Needed

A HUGE change is coming to Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland — are you ready for it?

Get ready to enter the Grid!

TRON Lightcycle / Run is a new roller coaster that’s opening in Tomorrowland on April 4th, 2023. It’s a super fast coaster that uses motorcycle-style ride vehicles and takes visitors on a high-speed race through the Grid. We’ve already tested out this ride during the previews, and we’ve got lots of tips and information to help you get ready for the official opening date. But today we made a new discovery that’s almost as good as the ride itself.

We attended a media event in Disney World to learn more about TRON Lightcycle / Run. During the event, we watched the dedication ceremony for the attraction, where Jeff Vahle (the president of Walt Disney World) thanked the Walt Disney Imagineers and Cast Members for their work on the ride.

A couple of celebrities also attended the dedication ceremony: Bruce Boxleitner and Cindy Morgan were there!

And speaking of celebrities, Mickey and Minnie Mouse stopped by, each wearing a cool TRON-inspired outfit.

Another iconic character was also sporting a TRON-inspired outfit, and he was rocking away to Daft Punk: everyone please say hello to TRON Goofy! He’s our new hero.

Seriously, we never knew we needed TRON Goofy in our lives, but now we can’t live without him. Disney, could he please stick around? A TRON Goofy meet-and-greet in Tomorrowland is absolutely essential.

We asked a Cast Member if our new favorite Disney character would be sticking around, and they said that he likely wouldn’t be a permanent fixture in the park. He might be around for the opening of TRON Lightcycle / Run on April 4th, but even that isn’t guaranteed.
