NEW STORE ANNOUNCED for TRON Lightcycle / Run Merch in Disney World

We’re just a few weeks away from the opening of TRON Lightcycle / Run in Magic Kingdom, and we’re getting pumped!

Thanks to previews, we’ve already been able to check out the ride, but now we’ve got some other things to be excited about. Recently, Disney revealed plans for a new snack stand just outside the ride, and now we’ve got more information about the merchandise and unique experiences that will open soon!

Let’s start with the merchandise! When TRON Lightcycle / Run opens on April 4th, 2023, you’ll be able to find multiple new ride and movie-themed collections in a “specially designed pop-up shop area directly across from the Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor entrance in Tomorrowland.”

If you’re familiar with the map of Tomorrowland, it sounds like this pop-up shop will either be located in front of or inside what was formerly Stitch’s Great Escape. It’s the empty attraction area to the left of the main Tomorrowland entrance. The three merchandise collections you can purchase there are the Back to the Arcade collection, the Thrill of the Race collection, and a “third merchandise collection inspired by the clean design language of this digital world.”

But, the pop-up shop won’t be the only place where you can find unique TRON souvenirs! Disney is also launching something called the TRON Identity Program, where guests can build a customizable “Program” action figure and identity chip. The identity chip can be used to “re-program” other merchandise such as the interactive Identity Discs and Remote Control Lightcycles.

If you want to check out that experience, you’ll need to make a reservation in advance online. (They become available on March 21st.) This experience will be located inside Tomorrowland Launch Depot, which is the gift shop connected to Space Mountain — it has been under construction for a while now, likely to prepare for the new addition.
