You probably shouldn’t read this post if you’re hungry… We’re not kidding! You also shouldn’t read this if you’re already dreaming of a relaxing summer getaway to Mexico, trying all the seasonal flavors and just a little bit of fiesta!
The 2023 EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival has officially begun and it has a LOT to offer. There are plenty of food booths with tasty items, unique topiaries to check out, merchandise to grab (of course), and even concerts to watch. But don’t let it overwhelm you, we’ve got you covered with everything you need to know. And now we’re heading to one spot in particular — Jardin de Fiestas — to give you the FULL scoop! Is it worth a try? Let’s find out!
Menu
Over at Jardin de Fiestas, we’ve got a mix of both new and returning items available. The food options include a quesadilla and a taco, while the drink menu has two different margaritas.
Now that we’ve taken a look at the menu, let’s dive into the food itself!
Eats
First up, we grabbed the Quesadilla de Flor de Calabaza for $8! This quesadilla is made with house-made Masa Tortillas filled with squash blossoms, bacon, onion, zucchini, and cheese. Plus, this one is gluten/wheat friendly.
This quesadilla is new to Flower and Garden, and it was fairly okay. It had LOTS of cheese inside, but it was unfortunately a little bland. We couldn’t really taste any of the onions or the salsa.
Next, we tried the Taco Vampiro for $8.75! This is a returning item that we’ve tried before, which features Barbacoa beef in a corn tortilla with grilled Monterey jack cheese, salsa ranchera, and esquites.
In the past, the taco was pretty good — with meat filled with flavor. However, it could’ve used more seasoning. Has it stepped up its game since? Absolutely! This year it was very crispy and cheesy on the outside, the salsa added a nice kick, and the barbacoa beef was very good. We would definitely order this again!
Drinks
In terms of drinks at this booth, we got to try two new margaritas!
First, we tested the Mala Hierba Margarita for $14. This margarita features Centinela Tequila Reposado, Elderflower-Chamomile tea, Abasolo corn whiskey, and UNA flower-infused Vodka with a Chile salt rim. It’s very earthy and has a typical margarita taste, but that chili salt rim adds a BIG kick.
Next, we tried the Cristal Margarita for $16. This one included 100% Agave Tequila Blanco, Ilegal Mezcal Joven, clarified lemon juice, and orange liqueur. The best part is, it comes in a souvenir cup! This was VERY Mezcal-forward, but with a hint of citrus. This is a little more fun because it comes in a souvenir cup, but it’s pretty strong.
So what were our overall thoughts on this booth?
OVERALL
In the past, Jardin de Fiestas has lacked some flavor, so we were excited to see if this year’s food could top the last two years! Sadly, it didn’t step things up too much. We REALLY loved the Taco Vampiro but nothing else stood out particularly strongly.
You’ll want to hurry to the Mexico Pavilion for Jardin de Fiestas!

It’s nice that they have a gluten/wheat-free item on the menu for those with allergies, but we would love if they could level up the flavors in that dish. In the meantime, we’ll probably be coming back for that taco. 😉
