Jambo from Disney’s Animal Kingdom!

It’s been quite the week for Disney news. We learned that DAILY housekeeping is coming back to Disney World resorts, got a look at the newly remodeled rooms coming to Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, and watched as Encanto won three Grammys! But today, we’re headed to Animal Kingdom to show you everything new that happened this week. Let’s take a look.

Animal Kingdom Food Updates

Flame Tree Barbecue

This month, Disney is honoring Black History Month with Celebrate Soulfully, and it brought us tons of amazing food! So far we’ve tried some great options, like the spicy Jamaican Jerk Chicken Frites at The Daily Poutine and the Jambalaya Hot Dog in Disney Springs. At Animal Kingdom’s Flame Tree Barbecue, we found TWO items to try for the celebration. This Creole-Smoked Sausage Sandwich is a smoked andouille sausage on a roll with piccadilly relish and stewed black-eyed peas.

We also found this fancy Soul Cupcake for the celebration! It is a vanilla cake with bananas foster filling, vanilla marshmallow buttercream, a Joe Gardner (from Pixar’s Soul) white chocolate medallion, and edible paper music notes with multi-colored crispy pearls.

We saw this cupcake last year, and it was so good we had to get it again! You can find this cupcake at Flame Tree Barbecue for $5.99.

Dawa Bar

If you’re looking for a way to celebrate that’s a little stronger, you can try the new Pineapple Mint Julep at Dawa Bar.
