February has brought a LOT of new things to Disney World.
Celebrate Soulfully
This month marks Black History Month and kicks off Disney’s Celebrate Soulfully, which will bring new merchandise, special events, and new food, to the resort! So we’re heading to Disney’s Animal Kingdom to try one of these new food items!
Meet the Creole Smoked Sausage Sandwich, which is a smoked andouille sausage on a roll with piccadilly relish and stewed black-eyed peas. That sounds SO good, doesn’t it? Well…
It was delicious! The sweet flavor of the relish paired perfectly with the smoked sausage. Although there was a generous portion of relish, it wasn’t overwhelming, and even had sweet peppers inside!

The sausage was a bit spicy, but delicious. It was also perfectly cooked — very tender and juicy!
Perfection!
The black eyed peas were hearty, with bits of pork, onion, and tomato. We could have eaten an entire meal made of just these if we’re being honest!

We really enjoyed this sandwich and would recommend it to anyone feeling adventurous with trying new foods, especially if you like smoked sausage! If you’re not a fan of relish or black eyed peas, though, you might wanna sit this one out. You’ll be able to grab this for yourself at Flame Tree Barbecue for $12.79.
