There are SO many treats joining the Disney parks family right now.
February is Black History Month, and Disney is celebrating with TONS of new snacks in all their parks! We’ve already started trying lots of them and have found some truly delicious ones, but our job isn’t even CLOSE to being over. We headed over to Disney’s Animal Kingdom to try another cupcake that’s only around for this month! We tried this cupcake last year, but it was so good it had us coming back for a second year.
At Flame Tree Barbeque, you can grab the Soul Cupcake for $5.99.
This is a vanilla cake with bananas foster filling, vanilla marshmallow buttercream, a Joe Gardner (from Pixar’s Soul) white chocolate medallion, and edible paper music notes with multi-color crispy pearls.
The cupcake itself was perfectly baked and very moist. The banana flavor seeped into the cupcake, creating an amazing combination of vanilla and bananas.
The vanilla marshmallow icing is different from the typical buttercream on most Disney cupcakes, but was delicious! If you love marshmallows or just super sugary treats, you’ll love this icing. It’s very light and fluffy, and the crispy pearls added a nice crunchy texture.
We definitely recommend this cupcake to anyone that loves bananas and marshmallows, but if you aren’t the biggest fan of either of those, you might wanna skip it. This one actually wasn’t as messy as the one we tried last year, so it’s much easier to eat. However, the reason it wasn’t as messy is that the one from last year had a LOT more filling than the new version (and we really enjoy that filling), so it’s a give-and-take situation.
You’ve only got until February 28th to grab this treat, so be sure to act fast. If this cupcake isn’t for you, not to worry, there are TONS of other snacks to try around the parks that are both sweet and savory. Be sure to stay tuned to DFB for all our reviews on the Celebrate Soulfully treats and other Disney news.
