Sweet offerings have popped up all over the parks in celebration of Mother’s Day!

Let’s celebrate Mother’s Day!
We’ve already found some gifts for pampering mom, and if you’re in the parks for the special occasion, there are some treats you can spoil her with too! One of those treats was not our favorite last year, but has it changed for the better?
Over at Disney’s Beach and Yacht Club Resorts, you can find the Sweeter Than Roses dessert at The Marketplace at Ale & Compass and Beach Club Marketplace! It’s available on Mobile Order from May 5th through May 8th and costs $5.99. Last year, this treat was a big mess, and the texture was…off-putting. Naturally, we had to try it again to see if it’s improved!
The 2022 Sweeter Than Roses dessert is made with a raspberry mousse and chocolate cake with a ruby red raspberry center and chocolate and fondant décor. This is different from last year’s treat, which was made with a chocolate hazelnut cake and covered in a melty mousse. But this year? It was SO GOOD and the chocolate ring was a big improvement! It was a delicious and bitter dark chocolate, which balanced out the sweetness of the raspberries.
The raspberry flavoring was not too tart, and the raspberries on top gave it a natural, juicy flavor. The cake was especially fluffy and airy, and look! It wasn’t a melty mess like last year.
The only thing we didn’t love was the red fondant circles, which didn’t seem to add anything to the dessert. And if you’re not a dark chocolate fan, you should probably stick to eating just the cake. Still, this is a sweet and romantic treat that would be great for kids AND adults who enjoy chocolate and raspberries, and it’s perfect for Mother’s Day.
So if this limited-time treat sounds good to you, head over to Disney’s Beach or Yacht Club Resorts to give it a try! And, for the latest Disney news, stay tuned to DFB!
