Of all the resorts on Disney World property, Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground might be the least visited — at least by guests who aren’t staying there.
It isn’t necessarily an easy location to get to if you’re staying somewhere else, but if you’re on a budget and like camping, it might be EXACTLY the Disney World accommodations you’re looking for. However, if you’re looking for something a little more bougie, you can always get a cabin onsite where you can “rough it” with all the amenities you might enjoy at a hotel. But what about food at this resort? Well, let’s take a look at what’s available.
Just because Fort Wilderness is mostly campgrounds doesn’t mean there aren’t some stellar places to eat. In fact, a couple of the sit-down restaurants are fan-favorite destinations even for guests who don’t normally stay here! There are quick service spots, some table service dining, and a few bars that you’ll need to know about. Let’s dive in.
Chuck Wagon
The Chuck Wagon is a food truck that you’ll find on the Fort Wilderness Campgrounds. It’s usually only open in the evenings, from 5:30PM to 9:30PM, but check the times on the My Disney Experience app when you’re there.
You’ll find some standard counter service food here, but there are also a few more exciting eats, like the Macaroni & Cheese Burger, which is topped with fried mac & cheese, bacon, and smoked gouda.
A few snacks are on the menu as well, like Mickey pretzels with cheese, jalapeño poppers, onion rings, and fried mac & cheese. And the BEST part? You can get CORN DOG NUGGETS here! This is one of the only places in Disney World outside of Magic Kingdom to find these amazing nuggets of perfection.
This spot is also where you can pick up S’mores Kits for the Chip ‘n’ Dale’s Campfire Sing-A-Long.

Crockett’s Tavern
Located near Pioneer Hall, Crockett’s Tavern is a wagon-wheel nostalgic full-service bar and lounge, offering adult beverages along with eats like nachos and wings. This spot also serves up a selection of specialty Moonshine cocktails.
It shares space with Trail’s End restaurant and Davy Crockett’s Wilderness Arcade. Indoor seating is available, as well as relaxing rocking chairs located on the porch. Within walking distance to the Fort Wilderness Marina and Settlement bus stop, Crockett’s Tavern is easily accessible by boat or bus.
Inside, you can feel like you’re having a drink with a campsite feel. Grab a Moonshine cocktail — our favorite is the Gullywhumper, made with Ole Smoky White Lightnin’, Bols Peach Schnapps, Pineapple Juice, and Cranberry Juice.
There’s also some wine, beer, and non-alcoholic libations on the menu. To eat, try the trio of sliders, crispy cauliflower, Fried Green Tomato Sliders, Chicken Bites, or charcuterie board.

Meadow Snack Bar
If you’re at the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool and find yourself needing a snack or something to drink, you’ll find Meadow Snack Bar nearby to satisfy your cravings.
You’ll find hot dogs, loaded chips, pizza, BBQ sandwiches, and the like here, as well as some treats like Mickey ice cream bars and chocolate cake.
There are assorted alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, including some fun specialty drinks here, too, like the Moonshine Daiquiri and the Ole Smoky Blackberry Colada Moonshine.
In general, this is a good spot to grab a quick snack if you’re nearby, but it’s not really a destination eatery.

Trail’s End Restaurant
If Trail’s End Restaurant was an old favorite of yours, then you may be surprised to find that it has changed significantly! This spot was formerly a table service dining location, but now serves food market-style in a quick service setup. There are several grab-and-go stations with prepackaged salads, fruit, chips, and baked goods.
There’s also a hot foods station where you can pick up items to make a full family-sized meal. They have ribs, chicken, and a variety of sides including veggies, mashed potatoes, and macaroni and cheese.
If you’re not interested in any of the grab-and-go eats, then you can order from the menu at the checkout counter. The breakfast options include a Bounty Platter, Mickey waffles, a Bacon Breakfast Croissant Sandwich, and a Chicken and Egg Biscuit.
For lunch and dinner, they’ve got family meals, pizza, a cheeseburger, pulled pork, chicken nuggets, and more.
They’ve got a little something for everyone here! To check out our thoughts on the new menu, make sure to read our review.
