Yes, we’re quoting Darth Vader from the very first Star Wars film. Why? Well, not only is Vader one of the most iconic movie villains of all time, but he’ll also soon be making an appearance in the upcoming Disney+ series, Obi-Wan Kenobi. Even better? TODAY is the day Disney dropped the first photo of Darth Vader on the new show!
This comes after Disney released the first trailer for the series, which already had us super excited. But we’re also stoked to see Hayden Christensen return to the role of Anakin Skywalker (aka Darth Vader) for the first time since 2005’s Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. Now, thanks to Entertainment Weekly, we know what he will look like on the series AS Vader.

Insert heavy breathing here… . The photo shows Vader emerging from his meditation chamber, which is one of the few places where Darth Vader takes off his mask. However, when asked about seeing Vader maskless, Christensen wouldn’t say. “I wish I could tell you,” he said. “I’m sworn to secrecy.”

It’s still undetermined how much of a role Darth Vader will play in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, but show writer Joby Harold said, “His shadow is cast across so much of what we do. And the degree of his proximity to that shadow is something that we’ll discover. But he is very much a part of the show emotionally for Obi-Wan, and possibly beyond that as well.”
OOOOOHH! We can’t wait to watch the first episode of Obi-Wan Kenobi when it arrives on Disney+ on May 25th.
