Hello from the 2022 EPCOT Festival of the Arts!
We’ve been coming at ya LIVE from the festival all day long — and we’re not done yet! We’ve tried some of the new items at the booths, like the brand new booth, The Craftsman’s Courtyard, and a delicious margarita at El Artista Hambriento, but now we’re headed over to France to take a look at what L’Art de la Cuisine Française has to offer!
Menu
Over in the France pavilion at EPCOT, you’ll find L’Art de la Cuisine Française, which means “The Art of French Cuisine.” This is a returning booth that also has some returning eats!
There is only one NEW food item at the booth this year, the Mousseline de Bisque de Homard Froide, Brioche Feuilletée à l’Aneth. There are also some returning favorites from past festival years!
Food
The newest dish to join this lineup is the Mousseline de Bisque de Homard Froide, Brioche Feuilletée à l’Aneth. This is a chilled lobster bisque mousse served with dill brioche for $10.50. Sounds interesting, right? Well it sure does look interesting!
We don’t know if we’ve ever seen soup in this form before…but we have now!

This dish was definitely a CHOICE. It’s basically a jelly lobster bisque. The first thing you taste is a lot of salt, but the bisque does have a ton of other flavors. We noticed dill and there is a bit of a spicy kick to it, too, so beware of that.
And, there are lobster pieces throughout it, even though they’re hard to see. The lobster was cooked very well, but the mousse itself is quite a bizarre texture. It’s not at all what you would expect from a traditional lobster bisque, and you should probably be pretty adventurous to try this one!
Since it’s served cold, the flavors are more pronounced. We would absolutely not recommend letting this one sit around for a while in the heat — eat it right away!
The dill brioche that comes with the mousse is good, but it could be softer. It was also a bit dry and the dill flavor isn’t very strong — it’s just more of a general flavor of herbs. Putting the mousse on top of the brioche makes it a lot better!
Overall, you need to be a big fan of salt, lobster, and untraditional textures to like this dish. If you’re looking for something really different, this is perfect!
Returning favorites include the Crème de Brie en Petit Pain, which is warm creamy brie in a house-made bread bowl for $8.50.
It’s melted cheese in a bowl made of bread — so YEAH, it’s amazing, DUH!
It’s also made our Best of the Fest List many times. Melty cheese is just so reliable.
Also back this year is the Croissant à la Truffe Noire d’Hiver, a black winter truffle croissant served warm for $8.
This is a savory croissant, so don’t expect a traditional sweet flavor. It tastes like truffle and warm bread, so if you like truffle, you should love this! But, we know many people are not truffle fans, so this one’s probably not for you. And, watch out for the filling inside, because there’s a lot of it!
Another returning item is the Moelleux aux Noisettes et Chocolats Valrhona. This is a molten chocolate and hazelnut cake with pure origin Valrhona for $7.75.
This is a super rich chocolate cake with a molten center, so chocolate lovers will definitely be happy! But, if you don’t want something really decadent, you might want to skip it. Although, the raspberry sauce does help cut down on the richness a bit.
Now, let’s talk about the drinks!
Beverages
There are four drinks available at this booth (besides the Evian bottled water), and they are all alcoholic. They are also all returning drinks from last year’s festival! You can get the Frozen French Martini, which features vodka, black raspberry liqueur, pineapple, orange, and grape juice with lemon-lime foam for $15. This is slightly sweet and very refreshing.
The remaining drinks at this booth are all wines. You can order the French Rosé Sparkling Wine for $8.
There is also a Cabernet Sauvignon for $9.50 and a Sparkling Chardonnay for $17.
Overall
Overall, this is a great booth for some unique eats, especially that lobster mousse! It’s also a good stop if you want some comfort food like a bunch of melty cheese in a bread bowl (and who doesn’t?!) or some molten chocolate cake. Plus, that Frozen French Martini is so nice on a warm day! We’re continuing our festival coverage all day long, so be sure to stay tuned to DFB for more.
