It’s no surprise that Disney’s Hollywood Studios has been BUSY this week.
In addition to the big crowds this week, a few rides have also gone down from time to time, adding even more excitement to the holiday chaos. Yesterday, Rise of the Resistance even had a 4-hour wait. One Hollywood Studios ride is down once again today, and Cast Members brought out some fun entertainment for guests!
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster has been going through a tough time in Hollywood Studios lately, having closed for a good amount of time a few times this week.
And it looks like Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is once again temporarily closed in Hollywood Studios today. This has not been the best month for the roller coaster, considering it also closed in early December due to smoke.
UPDATE: Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster has continued to close on and off for multiple days since this writing. We spoke with a Cast Member who shared that they have been having difficulties with computer glitches that are causing safety issues for riders. Maintenance has been working to resolve the issues. Learn more here.
In the My Disney Experience app, the ride is listed as closed, and you cannot book a Genie+ Lightning Lane at this time.
Cast Members brought out hula hoops for guests near Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster for some fun while the ride is closed! There was lots of hula hooping until the next showing of Beauty and the Beast — Live on Stage was about to begin.
Cast Members also brought out free Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster stickers for guests in the area!
Each sticker relates to the ride, including a guitar, a microphone, and some spicy license plates.
At the time of writing, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is still closed, but we’ll be watching closely for more updates today! Stay tuned to DFB for more news straight from Disney World!
