Wow, what a weekend, right? We’ve learned SO MUCH more about Disney World’s Star Wars Hotel, aka the Galactic Starcruiser at Destination D23.

The characters you’ll meet on the Halcyon
Not only did we get to see real-world versions of some of the merchandise that will be sold there, but we also learned more about the lightsaber training experience, and learned just how interactive the experience will be. And we’re learning even more about the experience that guests on the Starcruiser will have. All we can say is WOW.
Part of the experience aboard the Galactic Starcruiser will come with interactions with the ship’s characters, including its crew. They have a TON of backstory that will play into what happens. For starters, Captain Riyola Keevan might seem like the kind of leader that has her passengers’ and ship’s safety as a priority, but her loyalties actually lie elsewhere.
It seems that after 30 years working on the Halcyon (where she started as a quartermaster), she started thinking that the ship could be used for so much more. After meeting a certain…ahem…princess-turned-General…the Captain started doing more for the Resistance. Her loyalty will get tested on the Bridge.

Things get complicated for the captain when Lt. Harman Croy boards the Halcyon. Croy started his career as a data analyst who discovered that “anywhere the Halcyon landed, a little pocket of Resistance would bloom.” Now he’s working in the field to figure out the truth about the Halcyon. He will interview EVERYONE on the ship to get the truth — and that includes YOU.

The Astromech SK-62O just seems like a fun little droid who might be found forming a conga line with the kids on the ship because it just loves to have fun. But this little droid has some Resistance secrets hidden deep within his databanks.

His companion is Cruise Director Lenka Mok, who understands the secrets the droid is hiding and will do what it takes to protect her little friend. Lenka loves her job, travel, passengers, and having fun, but she’s going to have to dig deeper into herself to find the strength to do the right thing by her droid. And yes, she WILL ask you for help.

Sammie might just seem like a good-natured mechanic — but like many of the other characters you’ll meet, he’s far more. He comes from Corellia, where he saw first-hand what the First Order was up to. He managed to get onboard the Halcyon thanks to some help from someone who messed with the ship’s manifesto. Now he’s making his way to the Resistance on Batuu.

Earlier today, we also got a sneak peek at the Galactic pop star Gaia, who is way more than just the diva she appears to be. Yes, she is incredibly talented, but she’s from Ryloth, and “will do anything it takes to make sure her home world stays free.” So when she performs, you might hear her sing a song about power. Hint — she knows a lot about Coaxium, which could help save her planet. AND you may be able to help her.

EVERY one of these characters will be interacting with guests on the Halcyon, asking for help and interacting with them. How you respond to them determines how the story plays out. This is some deep dive roleplaying that any Star Wars fan is going to love.
