Here's How Your Actions On Disney World's Galactic Starcruiser Affect the Whole Ship

We’re at Destination D23 this weekend and we are learning SO MANY AMAZING DETAILS about Disney World’s upcoming Star Wars Hotel, aka the Galactic Starcruiser.

We’ve got a closer look at some of the merchandise that will be available, we found out about a galactic superstar we’ll get to see, we saw a REAL lightsaber in action, and we learned more about lightsaber training. But today, Disney also revealed a few more details about the interactivity of the experience.

First, the Star Wars Hotel is NOT really a hotel — it’s a two-night interactive experience where you get to step into the shoes of your very own Star Wars character and role-play an entire story that takes place aboard the Starcruiser, which is called the Halcyon. Just about everything you do aboard the Halcyon as your character affects the story.

This is MORE than just a game

But there’s more to it than that — because the decisions you make ONBOARD the ship don’t just affect your part of the story — it can affect the whole ship. For example, we learned today that if someone on the bridge hits the lever that makes the Halcyon jump into Hyperspace, the WHOLE ship jumps into Hyperspace. That means everyone on board will feel it and those in the cabins will see that jump through their cabin “windows.” Whoa.

Basically, every action you take during your time on the Halcyon won’t just affect your path, but it can affect the Halcyon’s path, too, and determines what happens next. How’s that for interactivity? NO PRESSURE! It’s just the WHOLE SHIP IN YOUR HANDS.

We’ll admit that the more we learn about the Galactic Starcruiser, the more the high price of a two-night stay makes sense. There is SO much going on here and it’s going to be unlike any other resort experience that has come before it. We can’t wait!
