The Disney Wish, Disney Cruise Line‘s newest ship, is getting ready to set sail in 2022.
The cruise will feature all kinds of new things including a Star Wars lounge, Frozen dining adventure, and even a Marvel-themed dining experience. Recently, we learned some extra special news when it comes to that Marvel-themed dining experience for those who are big fans of some of the actors that have brought popular Marvel characters to life!
Worlds of Marvel will be a brand NEW Marvel-themed dining experience aboard the Disney Wish. The Avengers: Quantum Encounter “cinematic adventure” that will be featured at this restaurant will follow Ant-Man and The Wasp during their first public speaking engagement on behalf of the Avengers.
Ant-Man and The Wasp are specifically holding a presentation about some of the most powerful super hero tech from around the world — including things like Captain America’s shield and Iron Man’s arc reactor.
All throughout the restaurant, there will be screens where guests will be able to see holographic models of this technology, field reports, and scenes from the Marvel movies where this tech was used.
The highlight of the technology showcase is a look at the Quantum Core — the latest and greatest Pym Tech. Each table will feature an Interactive Quantum Core on it — but, be careful, because these are HIGHLY unstable!
The Quantum Core can shrink and grow targets at the push of a button — something guests will get to test out.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a Marvel experience without a villain. During your dining adventure, Ultron will be trying to get his hands on the Quantum Core. Eventually, Ant-Man and The Wasp call for some backup, and Captain America and Captain Marvel come to help save the day.
During a recent media event, we actually got the chance to hear a BIG, exclusive reveal…4 BIG Marvel stars have lent their talents to this experience and recorded special sequences that will be featured in the dining adventure!
Specifically, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Evangeline Lilly as The Wasp, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, and Brie Larson as Captain Marvel have all recorded special sequences to be featured in the restaurant!
Disney has shared that these actors have already recorded their parts of the show and that is now in post-production. During the dining adventure, the battle between Ultron and these super heroes will take place on the upper decks of the Disney Wish. While you won’t be able to see Paul Rudd in person in the restaurant (BIG BUMMER), you WILL be able to see him on the screens around you as he and his fellow co-stars battle Ultron.
In the restaurant, you’ll feel a super hero presence, but the actors’ portions will be on the screens.
In terms of the design of the restaurant, it’s got what Disney calls a Stark-itecture look to it, meaning there are lots of clean lines and chrome details Tony Stark would be very proud of.
During the recent media preview, we got a chance to look at the proposed table settings for this space, which include a VERY shiny charger plate with the Avengers logo on it!
Even the silverware…
…and dinner plates get in on the Marvel action with Avengers logos on them as well.
You’ll find more of that logo and hexagonal designs on the napkins, and we love the tech-inspired designs on the tablecloths.
Overall, the table setting definitely falls into that Stark-itecture design with lots of chrome looks and fun little details.
And, as we mentioned, each table will feature an interactive Quantum Core, which will light up and potentially cause some fun effects.
The cuisine here is meant to take guests on a trip around the real and fictional settings of the Marvel Cinematic Universe wish dishes inspired by places like Wakanda, Eastern European Sokovia, California, China, South America, and New York City.
We actually got the chance to try some sample portions of a few desserts that will be offered here in the future, including a Flourless Chocolate Beetroot Cake! We’ll be sharing our full review soon, so stay tuned for more details.
We can’t wait to see what this Marvel dining experience is like once it officially debuts on the ship. We’ll keep an eye out for more details about this new dining adventure and we’ll let you know what we find!
