We’ve been running around Disney World today to give you the latest updates on crowds, attractions, entertainment, decor, and more, but we’re making a quick stop at the BoardWalk now. Not only are the views gorgeous, but there’s a new 50th anniversary dessert here, so let’s go check it out!

We’re headed to one of our favorite bakeries on property — the BoardWalk Bakery. There are a good amount of 50th anniversary cupcakes on the long list of 50th anniversary treats, but let’s see how this location’s cupcake stacks up!

New BoardWalk Bakery Cupcake

The 50th Celebration Cupcake is made with vanilla cake, marshmallow cream, birthday cake mousse, and gold crispy pearls around the border. There’s also a milk chocolate “50th” icon medallion on top. WOW that sounds sweet.

It’s such a cute idea to use birthday cake-flavored mousse for Disney World’s 50th birthday today. This adorable cupcake will cost you $5.99 — let’s dive in!

50th Celebration Cupcake

We called it on this cupcake — it was VERY sweet. The vanilla cake was really good and moist, but it was sweet even by itself. Add that to the marshmallow cream and birthday cake-flavored icing, and we really couldn’t eat more than a couple of bites.

The marshmallow tasted pretty fake to us as well, and the birthday cake icing just tasted like normal vanilla icing. Our favorite part was actually the milk chocolate medallion on top, which doesn’t really bode well for the cupcake. The crispy pearls were good as well — and we always like that extra crunchy texture with soft desserts — but most of them fell off when we took off the wrapping around the base.

If you have kids (or kids-at-heart) who love super sweet treats, this cupcake will definitely fit the bill.
