Disney World’s 50th Anniversary celebration is going to be MASSIVE!

We’re ready to celebrate!

We’re expecting new fireworks shows, new cavalcades, new daytime entertainment, and even a new ride. Plus, more restaurants with special offerings will be open by then, so you certainly won’t get bored during your visit. However, if you can’t make it on October 1st, don’t worry — Disney World is hosting a TV special for those at home!

Announced today, “The Most Magical Story on Earth: 50 Years of Walt Disney World” will premiere on ABC October 1st at 8PM EST. The two-hour special will be hosted by Whoopi Goldberg and feature a variety of guests including celebrities, athletes, Disney Imagineers, and Disney executives.

It’s going to be BIG!

During the show, viewers can watch musical performances from Halle Bailey and Christina Aguilera. Some of the other guests featured will be Melissa Joan Hart, John Stamos, Tom Brady, Phil Simms, Kevin Feige, Pete Docter, Bob Weis, Ann Morrow Johnson, Bob Chapek, Bob Iger, and Michael Eisner, plus many more.

The special will not only tell the history of the Walt Disney World Resort but will also highlight memorable pop culture moments, like sitcom appearances and the “I’m Going to Disney World!” campaign. And, viewers will get a history of the company’s partnership with Make-A-Wish, celebrating more than 40 years of making dreams come true.

And if you can’t watch it on October 1st, then you can view it the next day on Hulu and on demand. It will come to Disney+ at a later date.
