Review: Should You Take Valuable Time Away From BOO Bash to Try This Funnel Cake?

We’re LIVE from the Disney After Hours BOO Bash, and there’s so much to share!

We’re checking out the entertainment, the rides, and everyone dressed in their Halloween best. On top of that, we’re ready to try some delicious treats!

One of the snacks that is exclusive to this year’s event is the Foolish Mortal Funnel Cake! You can find it during the event at Sleepy Hollow Refreshments for $7.99.

It’s a Funnel Cake topped with Oreo Crumbles, Purple Vanilla Ice Cream, Green Caramel Drizzle, and M&M’S Milk Chocolate Candies Ghouls Mix. And let us just say, it totally looks like Halloween on a plate!

The ice cream isn’t quite as bright and as purple as the picture on the menu card suggested, but ultimately what we really wanted to know was how this dessert would taste! The colorful candy mix provided plenty of fun Halloween colors in this dish.

Overall, this dish was just fine. It was good, but if there’s a long line, we wouldn’t wait for this dessert again when we can quickly grab a Mickey Premium Bar instead. We liked it, but it wasn’t at all exciting or different enough for us to be totally wowed by it! And when you consider BOO Bash only lasts for three hours, we don’t want to waste any of our valuable time waiting in line for a dessert that ultimately is just okay.

What makes this an even bigger bummer is that Disney is fully capable of producing some stellar funnel cakes, with recent versions like the Mini Candied Bacon S’mores Funnel Cake at EPCOT’s Food and Wine Festival totally winning us over.
