Is This a Sign That Trader Sam’s Is Reopening SOON In Disney World?

Disney World is not quite back to normal yet.

Even with LOTS of reopening announcements for hotels and restaurants, there are many iconic Disney World locations that remain closed with no announced reopening dates. We’ve been keeping an eye out for any sign of more openings, and now there’s movement at an ICONIC location.

Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto is a ridiculously popular lounge located at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. It’s named for the head salesman of Jungle Cruise fame and features some interactive and magical touches — plus DELICIOUS tiki drinks. You can see why it’s popular!

What’s…happening here?

This small spot has unfortunately been unavailable since prior to the park closures and we’ve been waiting not-so-patiently for news of its return. Now, we’ve spotted some menu changes online! Menu changes are a pretty common sign of reopening for Disney World restaurants!

There have only been a few changes and the food menu has certainly slimmed down a bit. The Headhunter Sushi Roll was swapped out for the Kahuna Tuna Sushi Roll, and the Hawaiian Poke and Roasted Chicken and Pork Pâté Bánh Mì Sliders have been removed from the menu.

The only cocktail change is that the Shrunken Zombie Head cocktail has been renamed the Zombie. As for other alcohol? There have been a few changes to the beer and wine menus.

The Trader Sam’s page still does not have hours posted but often times menu changes signal a reopening. We will be keeping an eye out for ANY more signs of reopening. As always, stay tuned to DFB for the latest Disney World updates!
