Guess Why There Are So Many Peaches in EPCOT Today

We spotted some interesting new finds in EPCOT today!

The World Showcase is home to fun snacks, gorgeous views, and exciting upcoming attractions! But if you take the time to walk around the stores in each country, you’ll find some truly unique items for sale. That’s exactly what we did in the Japan Pavilion today…and it led to a fascinating discovery!

We were exploring Mitsukoshi Department Store when we spotted a treat we’ve never seen before: peach rice cakes! Each pack comes with 8 cakes.

As we kept walking, we noticed peach gummy candy for sale, too! It looks super yummy, but we were starting to wonder if there was an emerging pattern.

Then we found a peach-themed book! Peach Boy is an illustrated compilation of Japanese children’s stories.

So we did some digging, and we discovered that Hinamatsuri is on March 3rd! It’s also known as the Peach Festival, and it celebrates the peach blossom season on the lunar calendar. Pretty cool, right? Of course, we’re not positive that’s why all this peachy new merchandise popped up in the Japan Pavilion, but it’s our best guess.
