Disney World is home to the best cake slices around. Don’t ask us why this is such a hotspot for massive cake slices filled with so much icing, but we will take advantage of it every single time we can.

Here we go!

We headed to Gideon’s Bakehouse at Disney Springs to try a new cake slice that has arrived, and somehow, cake keeps getting better at Disney.

Say hello to the Blueberry Lemonade Cake Slice for $11. This is a lemon curd swirl cake with fresh blueberry jam, graham cracker crust crumble, and a vibrant blueberry buttercream. The slices are available on Wednesdays and Saturdays in May, and there’s no food coloring in them (so yes, that pinkish purple is pure freshness!).

Blueberry Lemonade Cake

The lemon and the blueberry go so well together! The cake itself was squishy, moist, and perfectly baked, and the frosting was blueberry-flavored without being overly sweet. It was beautifully creamy, and the jam seemed to be a bunch of fresh blueberries squished together (in the best way).

We loved how the lemon really stands out against the strong flavor of the blueberry, so you truly get the best of both worlds. The whole slice wasn’t too sweet, and whether you decide to share or keep it all to yourself, we think for $11 it’s a great price, too.

Equal layers of icing and cake

Now we have to warn you about Gideon’s: while we absolutely love the bakery, so does everyone else, and there is usually a line. This is not a place that you can quickly run in and grab something, so be prepared to wait a bit (and maybe grab some cookies while you’re there, since you do deserve it after waiting in line).
