The Disney parks are constantly changing.
Lots of new attractions are coming to the parks in the next few years, like Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in EPCOT. But some existing ones are going to be reimagined, too!
Here’s what we know so far about the changes coming to 5 Disney attractions!
Splash Mountain
This spring, Disney announced that it was retheming Splash Mountain in Disneyland Park and Magic Kingdom to The Princess and the Frog. The company explained that they wanted the new concept to be inclusive, speaking “to the diversity of the millions of people who visit our parks each year.”
Since then, the Splash Mountain song has been removed from Disneyland Park’s background music, and Disney World removed the Splash Mountain game from the Play Disney Parks app. While we still don’t have a timeline for the retheme, although it was announced as an expedited project in November 2020 “to ensure that all who visit the company’s parks do feel welcome as well.”
The retheme will follow Princess Tiana and her friends after her kiss with Prince Naveen. Guests will “join Princess Tiana and Louis on a musical adventure – featuring some of the powerful music from the film – as they prepare for their first-ever Mardi Gras performance.” We’ll keep you posted as soon as we get updates on when this transformation will begin.

Jungle Cruise
The Jungle Cruise is getting an “enhancement” on both coasts with a full storyline and a few other changes! The ride will have a new plot centered around the skippers, witty new jokes, and some backstory for the explorers.
The new story will follow a skipper and his unfortunate crew as their boat is wrecked and overridden with chimpanzees. Each of these characters will have their own unique background and reason for joining the expedition (there’s even an entomologist!). This skipper will be an animatronic, and the (very real) skipper driving guests boats will navigate from scene to scene.
We don’t know when exactly these changes will take place, but Imagineer Chris Beatty said they are “working hard to make sure we can get everything in this year.” We’ll keep you posted here at DFB!

Snow White’s Enchanted Wish
You may remember Snow White’s Scary Adventures in Disneyland.
Well, Disney is currently refurbishing the attraction and adding “state-of-the-art audio and visual technology,” music, laser projections, LED black lighting, and an animation system! There’s even a new dancing Snow White animatronic.
There are also some added scenes, like Snow White’s true love’s kiss and a happy ending with her animal friends. And, of course, the name is brand-new (and way less spooky!) Disney Imagineering has announced that this attraction should be ready to go whenever Disneyland opens once more.
Take a closer look at the Snow White’s Enchanted Wish changes here.
Spaceship Earth
EPCOT’s beloved park icon was due to start a lengthy refurbishment process on May 26th, 2020. New scenes and new narration were to be added, as well as light features to tie the individual scenes together. Besides that, Disney was pretty hush-hush about what was coming and what was leaving!
But when the park reopened in July 2020, Spaceship Earth reopened with it, and Disney hasn’t said much about the refurb since then! All they have said is that the refurbishment has been delayed for the time. being. But, a permit was filed for the building in October 2020. So now we’re just waiting for any future announcements. But as of now, you can still ride the attraction as is.

The Haunted Mansion
The Haunted Mansion in Disneyland Resort is getting refurbished! After shutting down in early 2020 for some touch-ups, work is still being done. A permit was filed this month for new light panels and a new picture box.
We don’t have a timeline for this construction just yet, but we’ll let you know when we do!
