PHOTOS: El Mercado de Coronado Has Officially Reopened in Disney World!

When Disney World reopened, many of its restaurants remained closed.

And while some are still closed, several fan-favorites, like Woody’s Lunch Box, have reopened. Earlier this week, we saw that another dining location at Disney World would reopen soon, and today it has officially reopened!

We’re talking about the quick-service location, El Mercado de Coronado over at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. This location is currently serving up both hot and cold grab-and-go items only. The menu is posted on a sign near the entrance. Although we saw the dinner menu, you can get breakfast here as well.

From the entrance, guests are guided through a one-way line starting with breakfast food and snacks, to cold grab-and-go meals, to hot-grab-and-go meals, and then to drinks and pastries.

There are distancing markers throughout the entire line to keep guests spaced out. When we visited, we were the only ones there — it was empty at 5:30PM, although a guest showed up later to get a drink. It’s VERY quiet, and there’s no ambient music playing in the background. However, Cast Members were standing by so when there are lines, they are prepared!

Salads and cold sandwiches are in the fridges and hot items are under a food warmer. The social distancing stickers lead you in a line through all the sections. Hot grab-and-go items for dinner time include cheese and pepperoni pizza, and a few other items.

At the end of the line was an area to get coffee, smoothies, mixed drinks, and pastries/desserts. Like many other counter-service restaurants, condiments are served in individual packets. There was a sign here telling guests to take things back to their table to prepare coffee and food instead of at the utensil area.

There was plenty of seating and many tables were spread out.

El Mercado de Coronado has a designated entrance and exit to ensure traffic flows in a certain way. The entrance is on the side of the building by Maya Grill and the exit is by Cafe Rix.

This dining spot is open from 7AM-12:30PM and 4:30PM-10PM. We are glad to see another dining option for those visiting Coronado Springs! Disney is slowly making its way back to normal one restaurant reopening at a time.
