There’s no time quite like the holiday season at Walt Disney World, and the grand finale for that season is the New Year!
Recently we’ve been getting a look into what Disney is planning for the final night of 2020, and sadly it doesn’t include fireworks or staying in the parks until midnight. Despite this, we’re still expecting Disney World to be fairly crowded, and some restaurants will be open late to feed those choosing to stay up and ring in the new year. In addition to the dining options, we’ve now got some more information on the “festive offerings” at the Disney resorts to celebrate this holiday!
We were checking out the resort category on the “Know Before You Go” section of the Disney World website when we noticed this new addition to the information. This photo is from the info for Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows, but the other resorts that are open have similar details.
The new section covers the fun resort activities for New Year’s Eve, including options like in-room celebrations, extended hours at dining locations, and extended hours at merchandise shops. These merchandise locations will sell champagne in full and individual size bottles along with board games and other fun things you can enjoy in your room!
Guests can purchase a holiday basket from Disney Floral & Gifts to ring in the new year in their room, complete with champagne, room decor, hats, and noisemakers!
There will also be pre-recorded shows to watch from your room, including the Candlelight Processional, Minnie’s holiday fireworks, and the New Year’s Eve fireworks. In addition to this, individual resorts will be offering special themed crafts and scavenger hunts for their guests — these offerings will vary by resort.
We can’t wait to see how creative Disney gets with these celebrations! Even though we can’t gather in big crowds to watch fireworks like we could last year, welcoming the new year at Disney World should still be so much fun! Stay tuned as we keep you updated on any additions to these details before the holiday arrives.
