BIG changes are coming for D23 Gold Family Members soon!

As of January 1st, 2021 a NEW Gold Membership Duo Plan will be introduced, which will give members more flexibility. The Gold Membership Duo Plan will replace the Gold Family Membership plan, and Gold Family Memberships will not be available for purchase or renewal starting January 1st, 2021.

What’s so different about the Gold Membership Duo Plan? Under the Gold Duo Plan, there will actually be two members — a Main Member and an Affiliate Member. The Affiliate Member will have all of the privileges as the Main Member, except that will not get the magazine subscription or the free gift 2021 Gold Member Collector Set (that will only get sent to the primary member).

D23 Gold Membership

This means the Affiliate Member will be able to buy exclusive merchandise, take advantage of early access and discount deals, and purchase tickets to D23 events (both virtual and in-person). Affiliate Members will also get their own membership card and membership certificate! And that’s not all, Affiliate Members will also be able to reserve their spot for D23 events on their own and bring their own guests without needing the Main Member to be there.

The D23 website now notes that with the Gold Duo Membership, both D23 Gold Duo Plan members (the primary and affiliate members) will be able to attend D23 events separately (or together) and each can bring their own guest(s) to select D23 events.

D23 Gold Member Gift

Starting January 1st, if you are currently a D23 Gold Family Member, you can transition your membership to the Gold Duo Plan for no additional cost through the remainder of your Gold Family Member term. Your plan will then automatically renew to the Gold Duo Plan annually thereafter. You won’t get the physical D23 Gold card and certificate for the affiliate member, however, until you renew your membership in 2021. But, D23 will create the affiliate member account for you when you transition to the Duo Plan and give the affiliate member their own separate member number. The Gold Duo Plan is $129.99, which is the same price as the Gold Family Membership is currently.

If you are currently a D23 Gold Member, you can also upgrade to the Gold Duo Plan starting in January 2021, but this upgrade will come at an additional cost. Just like Gold Family Members who transition to the Duo Plan, you won’t get the physical D23 Gold card and certificate for the affiliate member, however, until you renew your membership in 2021.

Right now, you can buy or renew a Gold Family Memberships through December 31st, 2020. Starting January 1st, however, Gold Family memberships will not be available for purchase or renewal. Instead, only the Gold Duo Membership and standard Gold Membership will be available. If you’re a Gold Family Member and you don’t choose to transition to the Gold Duo Plan, your Gold Family Membership plan will be honored through the expiration of its annual term.

D23 Gold Member Gift

If you’re a D23 Gold Charter Member, you should be aware that you must be an individual D23 Gold Member or the primary member on a D23 Gold Membership Duo Plan in order to keep your “Charter Member” status.
