The holiday season is well underway in Disney World — and the crowd levels are starting to reflect that, too!
Since Disney increased its park capacity to 35%, we’ve noticed larger crowds and parks reaching their capacity limits! Lots of guests flock to Disney to celebrate the holiday season and we definitely don’t blame them — everything feels so festive around this time of year!
This Thanksgiving weekend we’ve noticed some pretty large crowds and large lines in some unexpected locations. Here’s a look into the holiday crowds at Disney World this weekend!
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Disney’s Hollywood Studios has a lot to offer this week, from a newly reopened Woody’s Lunchbox to new merchandise, and as always, the highly popular Rise of the Resistance attraction in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Crowds fluctuate throughout the park, but Galaxy’s Edge seemed to be pretty consistently crowded!
Hollywood Boulevard didn’t seem to be too crowded, still with plenty of space for guests to walk around.
Similarly, Sunset Boulevard wasn’t very congested, as guests made their way towards the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster.
We passed a pretty empty Hollywood & Vine while walking around.
You can see more groups of guests heading towards the back of the park, leading to Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Toy Story Land, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, and more.
As we get closer to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, we saw crowds getting a bit heavier.
Some areas of Galaxy’s Edge were pretty quiet…
…while other parts were pretty busy!
The line for Rise of the Resistance appeared to be pretty full.
Most parts of the land were filled with groups of guests walking around.
Guests can be seen watching the Stormtroopers on the raised platform in front of them.
Shaded areas held a lot of guests, probably trying to get out of the Florida sun for a bit.
It doesn’t seem to be too crowded around the Millennium Falcon, but more groups of guests can be seen hanging out away from the sun.
The planet of Batuu seemed to have a lot of visitors this weekend! As for the rest of Disney’s Hollywood Studios, things didn’t seem quite as busy.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
This wild park has been ready for the holidays with festive cruises featuring characters dressed in their holiday best and plenty of decorations. Groups making their way into the park didn’t seem to be too crowded.
As we entered the park, walkways seemed a little fuller.
We passed lots of guests on their way into Pandora –The World of Avatar.
Africa didn’t seem too crowded. There was lots of free space to walk around near the entrance to the Kilimanjaro Safaris.
Asia, on the other hand, was a bit more packed!
Guests can be seen keeping a distance in between each other while waiting in line.
Similar to Hollywood Studios, it seemed like crowds in Animal Kingdom fluctuated depending on what part of the park you were in.
EPCOT
EPCOT has LOTS going on for the holidays, especially with the Festival of the Holidays beginning yesterday! We tried lots of holiday drinks and snacks, and have been appreciating all the decorations. The crowds for EPCOT began before we even entered the park!
We also spotted large crowds at the entrance of the park, near Spaceship Earth.
While walking around, we continued to see large crowds, especially this abnormally long line to enter the Land Pavilion.
This line was seriously long.
Swimming over to the Seas Pavilion, here’s the line for the Seas with Nemo and Friends.
Later in the afternoon, things seemed to quiet down much more in comparison to the beginning of the festival yesterday. The Germany Pavilion is pretty empty!
Even Karamell-Küche wasn’t crowded! Someone pass the caramel popcorn!
The crowds at the Mexico Pavilion were pretty small in comparison to what we’re used to seeing.
The line to enter the Mexico Pavilion was the shortest we’ve seen it in a while!
This line is basically empty!
We’re glad to be able to experience the holidays at Disney this year after all the unusualness it’s brought. We’ll keep you updated with crowd levels, holiday offerings, and more for the rest of the holiday season and beyond! Be sure to check back with us!
