Disney die-hards, we have BIG news for you today! D23 just released super exciting details for this year’s D23 Expo! Not only do we have a glance at the event schedule, but we ALSO have a sneak peek of the exciting presentations and panels slated to take place in Anaheim.
For those who don’t know, the D23 Expo is an annual gathering of the Official Disney Fan Club. This event also typically serves as a time for Disney executives to make major announcements regarding upcoming films, theme park attractions, and more. It’s safe to say we’re impatiently waiting for August 23 to get here — we can’t wait to hear what’s in the pipeline for Disney!
The exciting Expo events listed below will all take place in “Hall D23,” located in Hall D of the Anaheim Convention Center. Additional events will be announced in the coming weeks.
Friday, August 23 Schedule
The Disney Legends Awards Ceremony will kick off the event at 10:30 AM. According to D23, the ceremony “hosted by Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger, will once again honor those visionaries and artists who have made significant contributions to the Disney legacy.” This year’s recipients include Wing Chao, Robert Downey Jr., Jon Favreau, James Earl Jones, Bette Midler, Kenny Ortega, Barnette Ricci, Robin Roberts, Diane Sawyer, Ming-Na Wen, and Hans Zimmer.
At 3:30 PM, guests will get a sneak peek of the original content from Disney+, the streaming service expected to launch in November.
Saturday, August 24 Schedule
At 10:00 AM on Saturday, The Walt Disney Studios will present an exclusive look into its variety of upcoming films. Fans will find out what’s in the pipeline for Walt Disney Animation Studios and Pixar Animation Studios and learn more about live-action film projects as well. Attendees can expect special footage, exciting guests, and more! I am personally hoping we get a unique look into what’s next for the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
Sunday, August 25 Schedule
To wrap up the Expo, on Sunday at 10:30 AM, guests will hear from Disney Parks, Experiences and Products with Chairman Bob Chapek to get a taste of what’s coming to Disney resorts around the world. Guests can expect to hear about the major updates coming to Epcot at Walt Disney World — check out more about that here!
WOW! It looks like this year’s Expo will be chock-full of exciting news, updates, and changes for the Disney Parks, films and beyond! If you want to get in on the action, single-day tickets for Friday and Sunday are available. For more information on tickets, visit D23Expo.com.
