Changes are coming for Disney World soon, and I AM NOT READY.
New attractions, new lands, and construction everywhere? That’s Disney World for you in 2026, and if you’re coming for a visit, you need to be warned. We go to the parks every day, and we’re not prepared mentally yet for some of these changes!
Big changes are coming to Disney World, and some of them might sting a little.
Disney has already been in the middle of a huge transformation across multiple parks, and now it looks like two more fan-favorite attractions will soon be added to the closure list. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith and DINOSAUR are both scheduled to close in 2026, though Disney hasn’t given us official closure dates yet. The timing here is critical, because both rides are tied to massive park transformations — one featuring The Muppets and the other tied to the new Tropical Americas land at Animal Kingdom. Here’s what you need to know about these two closures and what’s coming next.
Disney World has had a busy week!

Halloween decorations in Disney World!
They dropped tons of news, updates, and inside looks at new projects headed to Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and MORE! We’re doing a full news wrap-up right here for the three biggest announcements from this week. Let’s dive into the biggest news right here!
Yesterday was a MASSIVE day for Disney news, and we were front and center to hear it all and report directly back to you!
We heard about Disney’s current ride refurbishments and upgrades, got the opening date of the new show coming to Animal Kingdom, AND learned that new meet-and-greets are coming, plus SO much more. If you were offline yesterday, here are the seven MASSIVE news drops you missed!
We have big news for all of The Muppets fans!
Disney dropped new concept art and details for the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster retheme, and if you weren’t sure about it before, trust us, you’re going to be first in line now.
The Muppets takeover of the Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster has proved controversial amongst some Disney fans, but the truth is it may be one of the best things to happen to the Muppets in years!
When Disney surprisingly announced that the Muppets would be bumping Aerosmith from the coaster last year, fan reaction was somewhat conflicted, with many pointing out that it was awkward for the kid-friendly Muppets to be tied to a thrill ride, and even questioning how they could thematically fit in the park’s Sunset Boulevard area. While there is arguably some merit to these complaints, we’d argue that the potential good greatly outweighs them.
A LOT is going on in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. We just witnessed the arrival of two brand-new shows (The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure and Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After). We also just said goodbye to Muppets Courtyard as it was closed recently to make way for a new Monsters, INC. land.
Well, as you may know, the Muppets will be moving over to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster sometime in 2026, and we’ve just spotted a new permit that could hint at future work to get ready for the coaster’s closure and re-theming.
EPCOT is known for its festivals, and while we are currently in between festivals, we can’t help but dream about what is coming up next! The EPCOT Food and Wine Festival is coming on August 28th, and we are already counting the days.
Disney will gradually release more details as we get closer to the festival’s start date, but we can’t help but think about what might be coming. Of course, we have lots of wants and desires, but what trends are we actually expecting to see at the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival? We are sharing some of the trends we think will make their way to this year’s Food and Wine Festival!
So we’ve been a big ball of emotions this week because we had to say goodbye to Muppets Courtyard in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, which closed to make way for a new Monsters, Inc. land.
We wished farewell to Mama Melrose’s in May, and then we had to watch Muppet*Vision 3D one last time and see the last person served at PizzeRizzo. Now, the construction walls are up, and the Muppets are gone. The good news, though, is that they’re not gone forever; they’ll be taking over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. Now, we have an idea of when that might happen.
