The Walt Disney Company is celebrating its 100th Anniversary this year!

That means plenty of celebrations are underway — like NEW shows in Disneyland, eats and drinks to try in the parks, and more. One Disney executive will no doubt be having a busy year, and it looks like there’s another event on the schedule for Chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Josh D’Amaro!
This is the way — if you’re a Star Wars fan, you know that phrase from The Mandalorian on Disney+. You’re also familiar with Din Djarin and his companion, Grogu (aka Baby Yoda).

If you’re like us, you’ve been collecting all the Grogu merchandise you can get your hands on — the plushes, the spirit jerseys, the pins, and more! Well, you’ll soon be able to MEET Grogu — and Din — in Disneyland Resort!
Even though it will never quite be the same as FastPass, Genie+ is here to stay.

Disney introduced the new skip-the-line system last year that had many guests confused. On top of new rules and ride policies, it is no longer free to guests — it’ll cost you $15 in Disney World and $20 in Disneyland. Since Genie+ is a newer system, it is constantly changing to become the best it can be, and we’ve been keeping you updated on the latest changes (including a new banner that makes its most confusing rule EASIER). But now, a Disney executive has shared how the company uses Genie to control crowds in the parks.
The 2022 D23 Expo is gearing up to be THE Disney fan event of this year, with lots of fun activities, exclusive merchandise, and potentially HUGE announcements about Disney’s current and upcoming projects.

Tonight is a big night — we’re finally getting a first look at Disney Enchantment at Magic Kingdom! While we were sad to bid farewell to Happily Ever After, we’re looking forward to seeing what this new nighttime spectacular is all about!

Yesterday, we got LOADS of new details about the new Disney Genie digital service that’s coming soon to the Disney World My Disney Experience and Disneyland apps.

We learned more about the features of the app, as well as additional paid options that offer guests access to “Lightning Lanes” (which will replace FastPass+) on Disney Parks attractions.

Early last year, Bob Iger stepped down as CEO and is set to step down from his role as chairman at the end of this year. The company also massively restructured some of its business areas to adjust its focus to streaming. Now, more changes are on the way.
Before the Disneyland Resort parks reopened, Disney announced that the Disneyland Annual Passholder program would be discontinued.

When the announcement was made, Disneyland President Ken Potrock said that new membership offerings were in development that would provide, “choice, flexibility, and value for our biggest fans.” Recent comments from Disney executives indicate that these new membership options could be close to making their debut.
Many things at Disney Parks are returning to pre-closure normals. We’ve seen the end of temperature checks at both Disney World and Disneyland, and we’ve seen both parks end mask requirements for fully-vaccinated guests.
