We have seen a lot of changes happen in Disney World over the past few years, such as new rides like TRON Lightcycle / Run and the transformation of EPCOT. There have been rumors swirling of a new Disney World theme park for YEARS, and it would be unlike anything Disney has done before.
It was recently announced that Disney would be investing $60 billion in the parks and other areas of the company like Disney Cruise Line. And one of the “Blue Sky” projects Disney has been discussing over the past year and a half sounds a lot like these rumors we never expected to actually happen!
The Magic Kingdom Expansion has been a big talking point and Disney World fans are excited to see what is to come.
Some things have changed since the idea of what lies beyond Big Thunder Mountain was teased at D23 in 2022. Let’s take a look at what is different compared to the original announcement.
The DisneylandForward project has been discussed with Disney and the city of Anaheim for the future revamping of Disneyland Resort.
The project began in 2021 and is a multi-year expansion of the Disneyland Resort. It’s a redesign that would update two existing approvals from the 1990s. The plan would need to change zoning regulations that are currently in effect with the city and would not involve purchasing new land, but instead re-zone current land use. Disney has shared that the project would expand the current land to include new lands, attractions, resorts, retail locations, and dining options. The idea of new lands and attractions coming to Disneyland has certainly led us to start dreaming up just what we hope comes to the theme park district.
We are so excited to bring you new details for the 2024 EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival!
Every year EPCOT hosts a variety of festivals and one of those is the Flower and Garden Festival. It’s a beautiful, spring festival that celebrates the renewed growth of flowers and greenery. It marks the end of winter and the beginning of the new season. And Disney just announced the opening dates and new details that we can expect at this year’s event!

Murguia is best known for her role as Mama Coco in Disney x Pixar’s Coco.
From September 15th through October 15th, both Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World are celebrating Hispanic and Latin American Heritage Month.

Mirabel
We’ve already started the celebration with over 50 New Snacks coming to Disney parks. In Disney World, we got the additions of two members of the Madrigal family, Bruno and Mirabel (Mirabel has a meet-and-greet and Bruno joined the Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade). But, the West Coast might have won this round with this NEW spooky sipper.
Can you believe we’re getting a Coco restaurant on Disney’s newest cruise ship?
Disney Cruise Line‘s newest ship, the Disney Treasure, will set sail in the summer of 2024, and Disney recently announced that we’d be getting a Coco-themed restaurant on board WITH characters! Here’s everything we know about this new restaurant.
If you are a fan of Disney’s animated movie Coco, you’re going to want to hear this news!

Coco and Miguel at EPCOT
Coco has become a beloved story for many Disney fans. Guests were excited when, at the D23 Expo last year, Disney teased that a Coco-themed land could be added to the Magic Kingdom. We’re also pretty jealous that, at Disneyland Paris, Casa de Coco — Restaurante de Familia, is opening this summer. But now there’s a NEW way that fans can bring Coco into their homes.
Remember that time Disney teased that an entire LAND could be gutted and rethemed in Animal Kingdom? Or when they lured us in with the potential of a true Casa Madrigal from Encanto (tears may or may not have been shed)? Wait…you don’t know what we’re talking about? Well buckle up, we’ve got some news for you!
Back at the D23 Expo in 2022, Disney shared all kinds of updates, but for those looking toward the future of the parks these “Blue Sky” ideas were some of the more exciting ones. We’ve already taken a look at just what a “Blue Sky” idea is and how likely it is that some of these things will actually happen. But today we’re taking a closer look at those teased expansions and identifying some potential rides that could be made. Wonder what the future of the Disney parks might look like? THIS is the post for you.
